Mangalore, Aug 28: A person who had been cheating several persons under the guise of Sri Ram Sene leader Prasad Attavar was caught red handed on Saturday August 26 at Attavar here.

The arrested has now been identified as Kiran (30), a resident of Suratkal.  He used call various cell phone shop owners under Prasad Attavar's name and tell them to send him a mobile handsets with a person whom he would send at a later time.

Many shop owners had given mobile phones to this person without enquiring much.  He did the same on Saturday.  He called a shop owner of Attavar and said him to keep a mobile handset ready.  The shop owner told him to come to the shop and take the cell phone.

Meanwhile the shop owner suspected the veracity of the call.  When the person came to fetch the cell phone, the former passed information to Sri Ram Sene office which was in the down floor of the same building.  But the latter did not know this. 

Accordingly, persons from the Sri Ram Sene office came to the shop and caught the person red handed.  He was handed over to Pandeshwar police after being assaulted by the onlookers.

The Pandeshwar police have registered a case in this regard.
