Mangalore, Aug 28: The special economic zone (SEZ) approval for the 311 acres of new Infosys campus at Konaje area in Mangalore is complete in all aspects, according to Naren K., Vice-President, Infosys, Mangalore.

Delivering a lecture on `Growth of IT sector in Mangalore', jointly organised by the Mangalore Chapter of Builders' Association of India and the Kanara Builders' Association in Mangalore, he said: "About 311 acres of SEZ is formally approved and cleared and we have taken possession. Right now, SEZ approval is complete in all aspects for the Infosys-owned 311 acres of land."

The new campus would have a seating capacity of 5,000 to 8,000 people, he said. This translates up to 12,000 people in the campus, as nearly 30 per cent of the people will be abroad.

On the future prospects for IT sector in Mangalore, he said everything was going right for Mangalore. The city is doing well compared to other cities in terms of basic and critical infrastructure. Mangalore scored high compared to various other cities in India in terms of quality of living, health care, education, cost of living, and quality of accommodation, he said.
