Rio de Janeiro, Aug 13 (IANS): Former Brazil midfielder Elano has praised the return of Dunga as Brazil's coach.
"I am in favour of his (Dunga's) return, because he is the right man for the job. He is going to treat Player A, B or C in the same manner," Xinhua quoted Elano as telling SporTV Tuesday.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk and Manchester City midfielder was a key player in Dunga's 2010 World Cup side, which reached the quarter-finals before being eliminated by eventual finalists Holland.
Elano also praised the simplicity with which Dunga took to his role the first time he held the position, between 2006 and 2010. During that time the Selecao Brasileira won the 2007 Copa America, the 2009 Confederations Cup and finished top of the South American qualifying group for the 2010 World Cup.
The 31-year-old said Dunga would often consult players about their favoured position, and denied that the manager was lacking in tactical knowledge.
"I cannot say that he doesn't understand tactics. I think Dunga's strong point is that he does everything simply," Elano said.
Elano remains without a club after leaving Flamengo last week. He was with the Rio de Janeiro club for six months but played just 15 games due to injury.
