Mangalore, Aug 30: A two-day national-level inter-collegiate commerce fest ‘Acme 2006’ will be organized by the Department of Commerce St Aloysius College on Aug 31 and Sep 1 at the college.

The annual event which has risen from state-level to national-level event is likely to have participants from around 17 college of India. 

Prof A M Narahari, Dean Commerce Department briefing the press about the event said that Apollo Fernandes vice-president (HR) Mangalore Fertilizers and Chemicals (MCF) will inaugurate the fest on August 31.

In 1999 ACME became a State-level contest, to bring out hidden talents of the students. In 2005, it became a national-level with 13 teams participating. 

Under eight events, ACME will be held which will also include individual as well as team events.
 
MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik will be the chief guest at the valedictory function to be held at 4.15 pm on Sep 1.

Secretary of the Commerce Association Nikhila Baasri, Association president Manoj Louis, Committee members Farooq Merchant, Noel D’Souza and Kevin Noronha were present at the press met.
