Himachal's additional honorarium for special police officers


Shimla, Aug 13 (IANS): The Himachal Pradesh government Wednesday decided to provide an additional honorarium of Rs.1,000 to special police officers manning the state borders adjoining Jammu and Kashmir.

A decision in this regard was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

The meeting also decided to provide forest land on lease to Om Energy Generation Pvt Ltd for construction of 7 MW Holy-II power project in Chamba district at a fixed lease for 40 years.

Regarding relaxation in the H.P. Private Technical and Vocational Educational Institutions Act of 2008, it was decided that the criterion of 50 percent marks in qualifying examination be made mandatory for admissions.

However, there will be a relaxation of 5 percent for reserved categories.

This will be the final relaxation while no exemption in the prescribed criteria of the All India Council of Technical Education and the private educational act will be allowed from next year.
