Kerala Administrative Service gets government nod


Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 13 (IANS): The Oommen Chandy government in Kerala Wednesday gave its nod for setting up the Kerala Administrative Service.

The state government decided on the new cadre following the shortage of officers in the State Civil Service.

Addressing reporters here after a weekly cabinet meeting, Chandy said they accepted a report by the chief secretary level committee appointed by the government.

"The report has been accepted and clearance has been given for preparing a draft bill. The report suggested the inclusion of 18 departments, but we have got suggestions that a few other departments should also be included and it will also be considered," he said.
