Delhi Metro celebrates Independence Day


New Delhi, Aug 14 (IANS): The Delhi Metro has organised quiz competitions for commuters and conducted tours for underprivileged and specially-abled children as part of Independence Day celebrations, an official said Thursday.

The quiz competition was organised Aug 13 and 14 at 10 Metro stations across the network including Dwarka Sector-10, Barakhamba Road, NOIDA City Centre, HUDA City Centre, Central Secretariat and Lajpat Nagar.

"The commuters were asked Metro-related questions with multiple answering options and given attractive prizes. More than 700 commuters received prizes for answering the quiz questions," a Delhi Metro statement said.

The Delhi Metro also conducted tours for underprivileged and specially-abled children from various NGOs on Aug 12, 13 and 14.

"The children were given a tour of the Metro Museum at Patel Chowk station and taken on Metro rides," the statement added.
