New Delhi, Aug 15 (IANS): Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung Friday announced setting up of four new polytechnics to boost education in the national capital.
"The government has decided to set up four new polytechnics in the village areas of Delhi," Jung said in his Independence Day address at a function held at the Chhatrasal Stadium here.
He said the polytechnics will help the youth to get jobs after the completion of their courses.
He said the city has performed "absolutely well" in the area of education for the past couple of years and the youth need to adhere to positive thinking and work towards achieving greater role in life.
Describing the contribution made by Delhiites towards the development of the country as "outstanding", Jung said the momentum of such contribution needs to be maintained forever.
"Delhiites have emerged as the highest income holders in the entire country in the last couple of years, which proves their roles towards developing the economy have been outstanding. It needs to be maintained forever," Jung said.
