Beltangady, Aug 31: In a shocking incident, a newly-married couple from Palkadadi near Arambodi here ended their life by consuming pesticide on Wednesday August 30.

Ravi Poojary (30), son of Kantappa Poojary of Palkadadi and his wife Lakshmi (25) ended their life on Wednesday.  So far the reasons behind the suicide are not known. 

Ravi had married Lakshmi in the month of April.  Eversince he was living in a separate house.  He was a painter by profession.  But of recent he was also working as paper distributor in Mangalore.  It is said that he had bought a two-wheeler after marriage.  Along with that he had also availed loan for his marriage which he was still repaying.

The family sources reported to have said that only financial constraints might have pushed the couple to take such bizarre step.

Lakshmi's brother Dayanand has filed a case with the Venur police in this regard.
