Mangalore, Aug 31: A person who was blackmailing a housewife based on a letter given by a religious leader and using her house to promote flesh trade has been arrested by on Wednesday August 30 afternoon. Before the arrest, he was assaulted by a group of youth, who had been waiting for him to come to the particular house.
Accused Monu
The arrested has been identified as Monu, a resident of Ganesh Thota near Farangipet. A city-based goldsmith had recently had shifted his residence to a rented house near Jeppinamogaru owing to his business commitments. He was living in the rented house with his wife. Monu, who is the neighbour of this housewife at Ganesh Thota, used to visit the couple at Jeppinamogaru.
Housewife who was blackmailed by Monu
Of late he had started blackmailing the housewife with a letter given by a religious leader. He gradually started bringing young women to the house for flesh trade. The housewife could not speak anything against this, owing to certain details about her which were in the letter given by the religious leader and a copy of which was with Monu.

Daily many men used to come to the house for the flesh trade. Having observed this for long, the local youth had planned to catch Monu and teach a lesson to him. Accordingly when Monu came to the house on Wednesday afternoon, the group stopped him on the way and started enquiring. But he managed to escape from the place. But the youth chased him and assaulted him after catching him.
He was later handed over to the police.
