Chikamagalur, Sep 1: Three persons including two children drowned after the mobike they were travelling, fell into Mooktihalli pond near here on Wednesday August 30.

Suresh, a resident of Thondahalli and his two children Shambhavi and Sharath drowned in Mooktihalli Lake after the bike Suresh was riding fell into the lake.  It is said that Suresh was on its way to his house on Wednesday along with his children when the tragedy occurred.  While Shambhavi was studying in class 2, Sharath was a LKG student. 

No one knew about the tragedy.  Their family members started searching for them after they did not come home even in the night.  Finally when they came near Mooktihalli Lake, they found Suresh and Sharath's bodies floating on the water.  But Shambhavi could not be traced.  It was only after some expert swimmers carried out search operations for about 2 hours that her body was found.

Though nothing is known about the tragedy, it is said that Suresh might have suddenly lost control over his vehicle owing to which bike fell into the lake.

The Chikamagalur rural police have registered the case.
