Seven injured on way to Vaishno Devi shrine

Jammu, Aug 17 (IANS): Seven pilgrims were injured in a landslide Sunday while on their way to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, a police official said.

The landslide occurred near the Adhukuwari spot on the 14-km trek to the hilltop shrine, a senior police officer told IANS here.

"The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment," the officer said.

Incessant rain for the last two days has caused floods and landslides in Reasi, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch and other districts in the Jammu region.
