Puttur, Sep 2: In another attention diversion case, one Maurice Gonsalves of Bannur was looted of Rs 1.5 lac in cash by a young man here recently.

Maurice Gonsalves who is the former vice-president Bannur parish council had drawn Rs 1.49 lac from a bank and was on his way home.  The money was availed as loan by him.  He had kept the money in an envelope and had gone to drink tender coconut to a petty shop beside the road.

He kept the cover on a bench there and was drinking tender coconut when a boy who came there showed mud on Maurice's shirt.  Seeing this, Maurice went to a nearby place to clean his shirt.  But by then, the boy had disappeared with the money.  Though people in the vicinity tried to locate the boy, he was not be seen anywhere.

Later Maurice filed a case with the police in this regard.
