Mangalore, Sep 3: Four more persons have been arrested related to the case of extorting money from MCC official in the guise of lokayukta officials.
The four who were interrogated by the Bangalore police found Rs 75,000 cash and four mobile phones.
On Aug 19, three persons demanded 12, 50,000 from MCC officer by entering into his house in the guise of lokayukta officers. The district crime investigation bureau and the anti-rowdy squad under the leadership of Tilakchandra arrested Kiran (33), a resident of Ashoknagar and Nitesh alias Neetu (30) of Bejai. A sum of Rs 10, 25,000 was obtained from them.
In the same case, the District Crime Intelligence Bureau on Saturday arrested four persons from Bangalore on charge of impersonating as Lokayukta officials and raiding the house of government servants.
The accused are Chittaranjan Das (63) and Solomon Sandeep (26), residents of CSI Quarters, and Basavaraj and Chandrashekar alias Rajanna (45) from Jalahalli Cross.
Police have seized Rs. 75,000 and four mobile phones from them.
