Mangalore, Sep 3: Compensation to those who lost their land during the expansion of Bajpe` airport was handed over by in-charge minister for the district B Nagaraj Shetty on Saturday.
The minister who gave away the title deeds for the new sites and monetary compensation to 46 families said that a committee has been formed to look into the injustice done to some people in the distribution of compensation in Sidarthnagar and Sauhardanagar villages.
He added that the committee meeting will be held on Sep 9 and justice will be given to the people.
As many as 46 displaced were given title deeds for the new sites besides Rs 57,800. However, two senior citizens among them received Rs 70,000.
Suratkal MLA Krishna J Palemar, Vittal MLA Padmanabha Kottari, HQA A G Bhat, Assistant Commissioner Krishnamurthy and Tahsildar Ramachandra were present.
