Gurgaon, Aug 19 (IANS): An inspector with Haryana Police , posted here as station house officer (SHO), was Tuesday arrested while accepting a bribe, a vigilance officer said.
Sandeep Kumar Mor, SHO of sector 29 police station, was arrested while accepting Rs. 25000 as bribe.
Mor was arrested from his office on the complaint of Rakesh Kumar, a parking contractor here, and hailing from a village near Meham in Rohtak district.
He was arrested by the state vigilance team headed by inspector Samar Singh along with duty magistrate Daljeet Sngh.
"Inspector Mor had demanded Rs 1.1 lakh as 'parking fee' from Rakesh Kumar holding him responsible for the vehicles being parked in no-parking areas from where the police towed these away and kept in the police station complex," a vigilance officer told IANS.
"Kumar had already paid Rs. 10000 and the Rs. 25,000 to be paid Tuesday was the second 'instalment'," the officer added, saying, "We are grilling the accused".
