Telangana, Andhra CMs, governor enumerated

Hyderabad, Aug 19 (IANS): The chief ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and the governor of the two states were also enumerated in Hyderabad under the intensive household survey taken up by the Telangana government across the state Tuesday.

Officials collected details from Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family members at his official residence in Begumpet here.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials gathered particulars from the chief minister, his son and cabinet minister K. Tarakarama Rao and other family members.

GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar met Governor E. S. L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan and collected the details. Narasimhan, who is a governor of both the states, filled the form and shared the information with the official.

Some officials also visited Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's residence in Jubilee Hills. As Naidu and his family members were not at home, the enumerators gathered details from his secretary.

The GHMC staff also visited the houses of ministers, MPs, state legislators, top officials, film personalities and other VIPs from Andhra Pradesh to collect the data for the socio-economic survey.

Popular Telugu actor Junior NTR shared his details with the officials who visited his house in Jubilee Hills.

The survey will cover all the residents of Hyderabad, irrespective of their nativity. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government has allayed apprehensions in some quarters that the survey is meant to target people from Andhra Pradesh. It clarified that there is no nativity column in the survey form.

Tens of thousands of people from Andhra Pradesh including government and private employees and students live in Hyderabad, which has been declared a common capital for both the states for 10 years.
