Mangalore, Sep 4: While children wait impatiently and plan tirelessly on how to make Teachers’ Day memorable, the teachers plan to observe the day as Mourning Day.

In response to the call given by All India Federation of University and College Teachers Organization (AIFUCTO), the teachers’ day will be observed as Mourning Day.

The Federation of University and College Teachers Association in Karnataka (FUCTAK) said that it will observe Teachers Day (Sep5) as Mourning Day to condemn the brutal killing of Prof Harbhajan Singh Sabharwal of Madhav College at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh by certain anti-social forces.

FUCTAK president Prof A M Narahari said that the college teachers all over Karnataka will sage a dharna in their respective colleges during the lunch hours.
