Worker from Kerala dies in Bhutan accident


Thimphu, Aug 19 (IANS): An Indian worker employed with Jaiprakash Associates at Punatsangchhu Hydro Power Project in Bhutan died after a falling boulder hit him, media reports said Tuesday.

The 43-year-old victim, hailing from the southern state of Kerala, died Sunday while he was drilling a hole, with two other Indian workers, at a powerhouse's vertical pressure shaft at Kamichu of Wangdue district, Bhutan's national newspaper Kuensel reported.

He was rushed to Jaiprakash hospital in Kamichu but succumbed on the way.
