Taiwan-based AOU keen to set up operations in Andhra


Hyderabad, Aug 19 (IANS): AU Optronics (AOU), a Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer, has evinced keen interest in setting up their operations in Andhra Pradesh.

A team of company representatives led by its vice president James C.P. Chen Tuesday met state Information Technology Minister P. Raghunath Reddy here.

One of the top three companies in the world for LCD and LED Technology, AOU also manufactures high efficiency solar products.

The team was is looking at the possibilities of collaboration with domestic partners for manufacture of solar, LCD, LED products, integrated solar and LED solutions with energy efficiency and energy storage systems, high technology water pump solutions, said an official statement.

A $14 billion NYSE-listed company with 45,000 employees world wide, AOU has 12,200 patents. It has filed applications for another 19,200 patents.
