Mangalore, Sep 4: Catholic Board celebrated 'Teachers' Day' at Shanthi Kiran at Bajjodi here on Monday September 4 morning.

Catholic Board of Education secretary Fr Wilson D'Souza welcomed the gathering while student of St Sebastian High School performed the prayer dance.

Talented students Roshan Veigas, Ancy Priya Saldanha and Lionel Pinto who have brought laurels to their school and family by their achievements were honoured by Shankarappa, deputy director.  Dr Dayana Prabhu felicitated the education institutions which have excelled in academics.

Diocese vicar general and vice president of Catholic Board of Education Msgr Fredrick V Pereira honoured the retired teachers.  K Vijayalakshmi, Kulshekar and Salvador Fernandes, Udupi spoke on behalf of the retired teachers.

Sr Lilly Pinto proposed vote of thanks.  Students of Morning Star School, Bajpe and St Joseph's English Medium School, Kulshekar presented cultural programme on the occasion.
