Kuwait, Sep 4: The motto of 'Social service through Literature' was expressed last year through Divo Daaiz Special Issue 2005, through which Rs 2.5 lac was collected and donated to Seon Ashram.
The Daaiz team has continue its mission of working collectively for valid causes of suppporting the needy persons in the community. It feels that it should take the initiative in playing a lead role in giving a shelter to the homeless, bread to the hungry, medicine to the sick and love to those in despair.
In this direction, Daaiz team will help bring out the Mithr Daaiz Special Issue 2006' for another noble cause - the Arunodaya Special School for mentally challenged children in Karkala.
Having appreciated the cause, well-known Konkani writers Edwin J F D'Souza (Novelist/Writer), Valli Vogga (Writer/Poet), Fr Pratap Naik (Konkani Activist), Fr Richard Rego (Writer/Critic), Clarence Kaikamba (Convener - Borpi Mithr), Jemma Padil (Writer/Columnist), CGS Taccode (Writer/Poet), Henry M Pernal (Writer/Poet), Andrew L.
D'Cunha (Writer/Poet), Dr Austin D'Souza Prabhu (Writer/Leader) and Gibba Kulshekar (Writer) have come forward to provide a helping hand to DAAIZ, to make this special issue a unique one.
For this purpose, Daaiz held the first meeting on the September 1 at the residence of Valley Quadras and formed a committee and formed the following committee
