Mumbai, Aug 21 (IANS): The benchmark index of the Indian equities market was trading flat in the early morning trade session Thursday, led by a fall in metals and healthcare stocks.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 26,322.66 points, was trading at 26,380.02 around 10.00 a.m., up 65.73 points or 0.25 percent from the previous day's close at 26,314.29 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 26,390.99 points and a low of 26,302.26 points during trade so far.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) lost 160.30 points or 3.03 percent down at 5,127.15 points.
