Bangalore, Sep 5: The ongoing camp for the Indian cricket team here was disrupted on Tuesday when some fans watching the proceedings entered the ground and mobbed Sachin Tendulkar, forcing the session to be shifted to the adjacent M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The incident occurred after a barbed wire fence on the compound of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (B) ground, on which some people were leaning, came down. The fans crashed onto the footpath. At least three people were injured, and one of them was injured in the head and was bleeding profusely.
The crash brought the training session, under coach Mr Greg Chappell, to a stand-still. Taking advantage of the crash, some other spectators rushed onto the ground and mobbed Tendulkar.
Skipper Rahul Dravid, Harbhajan Singh, Dinesh Mongia, Ramesh Powar and VRV Singh were present at the camp. A number of fans were perched on nearby trees to catch a glimpse of the stars, but they disappeared as the commotion started.
With people trying to enter the training area, in what appeared to be a security lapse, an angry Dravid shouted at the top of his voice: “Get out”.
