Property dealer shot at, critical

New Delhi, Aug 22 (IANS): A property dealer was shot in the stomach by three unidentified people following a road rage incident, police said Friday. He is in a critical condition.

The incident was reported around 10 p.m. Thursday from Patel Nagar in central Delhi when the victim, Vipin, 37, was driving in his Verna car along with a friend.

Vipin had driven just a few metres from his office located in the same area when his car hit the accused.

"As a heated argument ensued, one of the accused took out a pistol and fired a shot with the bullet hitting the victim's stomach. The accused escaped from the spot," said a police official.

The victim was rushed to a hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.

"A case regarding the incident has been registered against the accused, who are on the run. We are also probing all angles and trying to find out if the attack was pre-planned or it was just a road rage incident," the police official said.
