Border tensions could see WKL final moved out of Lahore

New Delhi, Aug 23 (IANS): Simmering border tensions between India and Pakistan Saturday prompted the organisers of the World Kabaddi League (WKL) to rethink their decision to host the final in Lahore.

WKL chief executive Raman Raheja said that the initial decision to shift the final, Dec 14, from Mohali to Lahore was done at the request of the Pakistan government.

“The final was shifted out of Mohali because they requested us but we will do what our government says,” Raheja said.

Two people were killed and seven injured Saturday in heavy firing by Pakistan Rangers on BSF posts near the international border in R.S. Pura sector in Jammu district.
