Mangalore, Sep 7: The kite-flying team from the city is all set to participate at the International Kite Festival to be held at France from Saturday September 9 to Sunday September 17.

The team members will be Gurudath Bantwalkar, Sarvesha Rao Boloor, Vasantha Kumar Sanil and Girish Panambur Venkataraman.

The festival, which will see participation from over 30 countries, will be on the theme "Our Planet - Stroll between Flora and Fauna."

Keeping with the theme, the team will fly kites named 'Devi,' that depicts the image of goddess, 'Rainbow Owl,' with the image of an owl in different colours and 'Live and Let Live' which shows a deer with tears in its eyes epitomising the plight of wild animals and forests.

The organisers have also asked the team to fly the national record holder kites depicting Yakshagana and Kathakali.
