Bordeaux top Ligue 1 table thanks to comeback win

Paris, Aug 24 (IANS): Trailing from the 12th minute, Bordeaux turned the tables to beat hosts Nice 3-1 to top the Ligue 1 standings with their third straight win.

Cheick Diabate scored the crucial equaliser from the penalty spot shortly before the half-hour mark as Alexys Bosetti fired Nice ahead with a sumptuous shot in the 12th minute, reports Xinhua.

The former French defender Diabate was later sent off in Bordeaux's victory with 10 minutes remaining.

Rolan found the net in the 45th and sent an assist to the ubiquitous Sertic in the 55th minute, making Willy Sagnol the first club coach to win his first three matches in the French top-flight league.

In other third-round Ligue 1 matches, Caen scored twice in the last seven minutes to down Stade de Reims 2-0 and climb to fourth.

Metz succumbed 0-2 at Montpellier after Kevin Lejeune missed a first-half penalty, and Toulouse won 1-0 away over Claude Makelele's SC Bastia.
