BSF repatriates trafficked Bangladeshi girl

Kolkata, Aug 25 (IANS): A teenaged Bangladeshi girl, trafficked to India, was handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) after being rescued from West Bengal, the Border Security Force (BSF) said Monday.

According to a BSF spokesperson, the girl, a resident of Bangladesh's Madaripur district, was trafficked to Surat in Gujarat and forced into the flesh trade about two months ago.

She, however, managed to escape and reached Howrah railway station and then Bapchera village in Malda district.

On receiving information, BSF troopers rescued the girl and after holding a flag meeting, handed her over to the BGB in the presence of her parents.
