One held in Delhi with opium worth Rs. 1 crore


New Delhi, Aug 25 (IANS): A labourer has been arrested here with 10 kg of opium valued at Rs. 1 crore in the international market, police said Monday.

Twenty-nine-year-old Vinod Meghwal, resident of Rajasthan, was arrested Sunday near the Paschim Vihar Metro station in west Delhi with the contraband.

"Meghwal had come to Delhi to deliver the consignment of 10 kg of opium valued at Rs. 1 crore in the international market," said Additional Commissioner of Police Ashok Chand.

Chand said Meghwal worked as a labourer in a grain market in Rajasthan where he was lured by a drug trafficker to deliver the drugs in Delhi.
