Chennai, Aug 30 (IANS): Public sector lender Indian Bank Saturday said it has opened 758,000 basic savings bank deposit (BSBD) accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
The bank said three regional rural banks sponsored by it - Sapthagiri Grameena Bank, Pallavan Grama Bank and Puduvai Bharthiar Grama Bank - have together opened 120,000 accounts.
The bank's 1,814 branches across India held a savings account opening campaign while mega campaigns were held in Puducherry and Tirupathi, a statement said.
