Taliban kills 11 people in Afghanistan


Kabul, Aug 31 (IANS): Taliban militants killed at least 11 civilians in Farah province of Afghanistan early Saturday, officials said.

Jawid Afghan, a provincial governor spokeman, said the victims were on their way to neigbouring Iran when they were shot dead by Taliban in Posht-e-Koh district, MENA news agency reported citing Khaama newspaper.

He said that the civilians were travelling to Iran to find work as labourer.

According to the spokesman, the incident took place around 7 a.m. and the victims were all residents of western Farah province.
