Exhibition aims to make art affordable for all


Kolkata, Sep 1 (IANS): An exhibition, featuring works by over a hundred artists, will focus on making art affordable for everyone. It will start here Sep 8.

Christened 'Affordable September', the second edition of the Art Fair at the Aakriti Art Gallery, will run till Sep 30 and display paintings, sculptures, installation art, photographs and prints.

According to a statement by the gallery, the artworks would be priced between Rs.1000 to Rs.1,000,00. It will showcase works by renowned artists as well as by fresh talents.

Among the featured artists are names like Jogen Chowdhury, Jayashree Chakravorty, Karmakar, Partha Pratim Deb, Suvaprasanna, Samir Aich, Wasim Kapoor while sculptors include Akhil Chandra Das, Bimal Kundu, Niranjan Pradhan and others.
