Ponda, Sep 16:
Students of Computer engineering stream of Goa Engineering College at Farmagudi-Ponda, called went on strike on Friday 15 September to protest against one of their lecturers, whom they termed as mentally ill and could not teach students properly and therefore demanded his termination.
 
It was morning time, when all the students were going to their classes and the computer students were agitating in the campus against their instructor. According to these students, this lecturer wore a helmet and rain coat in the class while teaching as  also while traveling by bus.
 
"It’s so awkward to to see a lecturer in rain coat and helmet while teaching. He also can’t teach us properly, as he is suffering from mental illness. Mostly girls are afraid of him, after seeing his actions. We are helpless, that’s why we want his termination. If we ask for his transfer, some other college students will have to suffer from the same incidents, that’s why we want his termination," said one of the students.
 
"Lecturer's mental illness could affect our results," said another.
