Paris, Sep 6 (IANS): France's talented teenage midfielder Adrien Rabiot seems set for a move to English Premierships' Arsenal, Chelsea or Italian Serie A's AS Roma in the next transfer window after being left out of Paris Saint-Germain's 21-member squad for the European Champions League group stage.
The French Ligue 1 champions, under a rule of the UEFA's "Fair Play Policy", were punished to submit only 21 men for the Champions League, rather than a regular 25-player roster, reports Xinhua.
Rabiot, 19, has just one year left on his current deal with PSG and has been rumoured to leave in January when the transfer window opens again after showing his determination of quitting the Parisians over the summer by refusing to train and again turned down a contract extension from the club just recently.
"I have tried to get him to renew his contract but without success," said PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi. "He wants to leave."
Rabiot had been close to joining Arsenal less than a week before the summer transfer window closed late Sep 1, as his agent and mother were sighted in London.
"We talked about Rabiot with Roma and other clubs, but we did not come to any agreement," he said. "I love the kid. I think he's a great player and I want him to stay."
At just 17 years old, the talented Rabiot played top flight football in a PSG shirt but failed to earn a regular position in the team over the last two years.
