Sikh businessman gunned down in Peshawar


Islamabad, Sep 6 (IANS): A Sikh trader was gunned down in the Pakistan's Peshawar city, a media report said Saturday.

Police officer Riaz Ali Shah said the businessman, a resident of Dabgari in Peshawar, was fired upon in front of a grocery shop, Dawn online reported.

The man died on spot and his attackers managed to flee the spot.

Police are investigating the incident.

On Aug 6, members of Peshawar's Sikh community came under attack leading to the death of one person while two others sustained injuries.

Last month's attack sparked protests from the Sikh community.
