One electrocuted, five injured in Gurgaon


Gurgaon, Sep 6 (IANS): A man was Saturday electrocuted while five others were injured when they came in contact with a high-voltage underground electric cable, police said.

Nearly a dozen labourers hired by a private contractor were digging for a water pipeline near the Fazilpur Chowk.

At least six people came accidentally in contact with the high-voltage cable.

Vinod Kumar, Kamod, Vinesh, Rajender, Arun and an another person also named Vinod suffered burn injuries in the incident.

All the injured were taken to a hospital where Vinod Kumar - who hailed from Muzaffarpur district in Bihar - was declared dead, a police officer said.

Police said they were investigating as to who was responsible for the incident.
