Bangalore, Sep 17: A fire broke out around 2 am on Sunday in a BPL factory making speakers for audio and video systems, at Avalahalli near Hoskote in Bangalore Rural district, the police said.
According to the police, plant machinery, raw materials and finished goods were destroyed in the blaze, which was extinguished with the help of nearly 20 fire-tenders.
The cause of the fire, which broke out early Sunday morning, was not known immediately.

The company sources said the loss could be anything in the range of Rs 10 crore. The first outbreak of fire took place in the engineering section, which spread rapidly to other facilities.
About fire-tenders rushed to the spot, with massive quantities of water being pumped in from the nearby Elemallappa lake. The magnitude of fire was such that even until Sunday noon the fire could not be completely extinguished.
The major victim of the fire was a godown where old materials, batteries and plastic metallic products had been stored. There was no human loss of life. No night shift staff were present on the premises. Factory manaager Ravindra and fire services inspector general Chengappa rushed to the spot upon receipt of news.
