Centre trying to rehabilitate Kashmiri migrants: Rajnath

New Delhi, Sep 12 (IANS): Home Minister Rajnath Singh Friday said the government is trying to rehabilitate Kashmiri migrants in the valley, taking all stakeholders into confidence in its effort.

"We are taking all stakeholders into confidence and so that they (Kashmiri migrants) can settle there (Kashmir)," Rajnath Singh said at a press conference highlighting the achievements of his ministry in the first 100 days.

"I have asked the chief minister (Omar Abdullah) to give us land quickly so that we can rehabilitate them," he added.

The government is also considering enhancing the cash relief to the migrants, who, the minister said, belonged to different communities, from the present Rs.6,600 per month to Rs.10,000 per month.
