Delhi civic body's Rs.1-crore Kashmir aid


New Delhi, Sep 12 (IANS): A civic agency will donate Rs.1 crore to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund for the flood-hit people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Employees of the New Delhi Municipal Council will contribute one day's salary towards relief and rehabilitation work in the state.

According to NDMC chairman Jalaj Shrivastava, there has been a long tradition of contribution by NDMC employees for relief work whenever any such calamity occurred in any part of the country.

NDMC employees had contributed one day's salary amounting to Rs.1.03 crore to the CM's Relief Fund for those affected by the 2013 flash floods and landslides in Uttarakhand.
