Pro-Trinamool forum burns CBI chief's effigy in Kolkata

Kolkata, Sep 15 (IANS): A forum of pro-Trinamool Congress citizens Monday burnt an effigy of CBI director Ranjit Sinha decrying the agency's efforts to "malign" party supremo Mamata Banerjee and West Bengal's ruling party in connection with the Saradha scam.

The protesters, under the banner of "Calcutta Citizens' Forum" gathered some distance from the CGO Complex in the satellite township of Salt Lake and shouted slogans against the Central Bureau of Investigation probing the multi-crore-rupee scandal.

Trinamool legislator Paresh Pal addressed the demonstrators.
