Udupi, Sep 26: ICYM Kolalgiri unit organized district-level tennis ball cricket tournament in memory of the late Baptist D'Souza on Sunday September 17 and September 24 at the government high school grounds.

"The late Baptist D'Souza Memorial Trophy" tournament was held under the motto "Personality development, search of talents and development" and was inaugurated by Lucy D'Souza, the mother of the late Baptist D'Souza.  Baptist was the former member of ICYM Kolalgiri unit.

Udupi TP members Sanjeev Poojary, Puttu Naik, headmaster of Kolalgiri government high school, Naveen D'Souza, brother of the late Baptist D'Souza were the chief guests on the occasion.  Former president of ICYM Michael Choudhary symbolically inaugurated the tournament by playing cricket.

The valedictory of the same was held on Sunday September 24 evening.  Parish priest of Sacred Heart Church Kolalgiri, Fr Jerome Monteiro, parish priest of The Little Flower Church Kemman, Fr Henry Fernandes, parish priest of St Antony's Orthodox Syrian Church, David Crasta, young entrepreneur and fisheries leader Pramod Madhwaraj, parish council vice-president Alfred D'Souza, Naveen D'Souza, Yogish Ganiga, Tony D'Souza, Sanjeev Poojary, Boniface Mascarenhas and others were present on the occasion.

"Durga BBC Padigar (Perdur) won the trophy while "Roshan XI, Udupi" were the runners-up.  The chief guests presented the trophies on the occasion.

The entire tournament was well-organized by Ashwin Roche, and ICYM President Roshan D’Souza and the members of ICYM and YCS Kolalgiri.
