Over 1,000 Pakistani parliamentarians face suspension


Islamabad, Sep 16 (IANS): More than 1,000 parliamentarians in Pakistan are facing their membership's suspension if they continued to not submit their assets' details to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has revealed that out of 1,174 parliamentarians only 96 have submitted details of their assets, Geo News reported Tuesday.

The top authority to conduct elections in Pakistan has issued a final notice for Sep 30 for parliamentarians to submit details of their assets. Those who failed to submit the details by the due date will have their membership suspended, the report added.
