Minor trafficked girl from Bengal rescued

New Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS): A 15-year-old girl trafficked from West Bengal and forced to work as a domestic help was rescued from a house here, police said Wednesday.

The girl was brought to Delhi two months ago by her friend, who promised her marriage but allegedly sold her to a placement agency, police said.

The accused was on the run, while the placement agency owner has been detained.

Police said a raid was conducted on information given by a non-government organisation Tuesday.
