Panaji, Sep 27: Goa university's Post Graduate Students’ Union for the year 2006-2007 was recently inaugurated in the Seminar Hall of Goa University.
Prof. P.S. Zacharias, Vice-Chancellor, Goa University was the Chief Guest and Dr. M.M. Sangodkar, Registrar, Goa University was Guest of Honour on this occasion.
Satish Mandrekar, President of Post Graduate Students’ Union welcomed the invitees. The Director of Students’ Welfare and Cultural Affairs, Dr. N.S. Bhat in his address said that the election process was conducted in a peaceful manner due to the cooperation of the students and wished the Union and its members all the best in their activities.
Dr. M.M. Sangodkar, Registrar advised the students to do hard work, maintain discipline and to develop good qualities in life. He also said that they should be optimistic and positive in their thinking and should plan well for the future.
Prof. P.S. Zacharias, Vice-Chancellor in his speech said that the University is striving hard to cater to the academic needs of its students and their all round development. He advised the students to make maximum use of various facilities available at the University.
He said that the students could approach the Faculty members, the Director of Students’ Welfare, the Coordinator of Career Guidance and also the authorities of the University to solve their genuine problems. He advised the students to improve their knowledge and to be competitive in the present knowledge society.

The President, Secretary, Sports Secretary Deepraj Prabhu and the Cultural Secretary Vikramaditya A.A. Delima and the other group Representatives of the Post Graduate Students’ Union, namely, Bernardo J. Sequeira, Arjun B. Pawar, Jesmina J.X. Rebello, Saneel C. Sawant, Shaikh Shoaib Budan, Rajkiran B. Divekar, and Sandeep S. Pisal were felicitated at the hands of the Vice-Chancellor.
