Vehicles carrying succour to J&K need not pay toll fee: Gadkari


New Delhi, Sep 18 (IANS): Vehicles carrying relief material to flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir have been exempted from paying toll fee till Sep 24, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said Thursday.

"All vehicles carrying relief material to J&K are exempted from paying user fee at toll plazas till Sep 24, 2014," Gadkari tweeted.

"Those interested may obtain exemption certificate from J&K Resident Commissioner in Delhi," he said in another tweet.

Floods claimed over 200 lives in the Kashmir Valley. Over 234,000 flood-hit people have been rescued so far from different parts of the state.
