5.54 mn new GSM subscribers added in August: COAI


New Delhi, Sep 19 (IANS): The GSM subscribers in India increased by 5.54 million in August 2014, Cellular Operators' Association of India (COAI) said Friday.

It is a 0.74 percent increase from previous month. Total number of GSM subsribers as of August 2014 was at 749.96 million. COAI is a body of GSM players in India, COAI said in a statement here.

Bharti Airtel has the highest number of subscribers followed by Vodafone, Idea Cellular, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Aircel and others.
