Incheon, Sep 20 (IANS): India's Navjot Channa lost his pre-quarterfinal men's 60kg judo event in the 17th Asian Games, going down to Boldbaatar Ganbat of Mongolia at the Dowon Gymnasium here Saturday.
The Mongolian gave little chance to the 30-year-old Channa winning by an Ippon, which is awarded for a technique which involves kicking the head of an opponent or throwing down the opponent, to defeat the Indian.
Channa, who had won silver in the Commonwealth Games, was awarded two shido points (penalties) during the two minutes 26 seconds encounter but Ganbat was just too good and scored a win after throwing the Indian emphatically to the ground.
Earlier, Channa defeated Kuwait's Abdalla Almaraghy in the round of 32 to seal his passage through to the pre-quarters.
