Dubai, Sep 20 (IANS): The West Indies moved to the top of the ICC Women's Championship table after beating New Zealand 4-0 in the just-concluded bilateral One-Day International (ODI) series with left-arm spinner Anisa Mohammed climbing to the second spot on the bowlers's charts in the latest rankings released Saturday.
The series victory helped the Caribbean side, who are at par with Australia on six points, climb to the top with a superior net run-rate. The first four sides of the championship qualify for the 2017 Women’s World Cup.
The first round of the championship will conclude in October when South Africa will travel to Sri Lanka for a four-match ODI series Oct 15-19.
West Indies now occupy the top two bowlers' spots with Stafanie Taylor leading the list. Teammate Shanel Daley is fifth.
In the batting rakings, headed by India's Mithali Raj, West Indies' Deandra Dottin returned to the top-10 at ninth while Taylor gained a place to be fourth.
Among the all-rounders, Daley leapfrogged Australia’s Ellyse Perry to second.
