Asian Games: Indian judoka Rajwinder loses

Incheon, Sep 22 (IANS): In another poor showing by India's judo contingent, Glasgow Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Rajwinder Kaur fell in the women's 78kg category final of repechage round in the 17th Asian Games at the Dowon Gymnasium here Monday.

A lot was expected from the Indian judokas after they won four medals (two silver, two bronze) at the 2014 CWG in Glasgow, Scotland.

However, India have failed to win even a single medal from judo at the Incheon Games and Rajwinder's ouster by Kyrgyzstan's Nagira Sarbashova was the latest bad news for the contingent.

The 30-year-old was beaten by Mongolia's Javzmaa Odkhu in the 78 kg quarters and went into the repechage to fight for a place in the bronze medal match.

The Kyrgyz athlete put in a dominant performance and defeated the Indian by Ippon with 'Kiken gachi'.
